I always start my search at Costco. Costco has a 90 day
no-questions-asked return policy, if I remember correctly. So I just
pick the one I want, install Linux, and if the Linux installation
fails, I put back the original OS (I don't even know if this is
necessary) and return it for my full purchase price. Out of ten or so I
bought, I only had to return one.

Costco computers are typically mid-commodity priced, rather than
boutique priced like System76 and Penguin Computing, and you almost
always get more bang for your buck from a Costco computer.
