Re: [PLUG] Cisco AnyConnect client

I'm thinking it's not specific. It's pretty easy to setup and test

edit /etc/vpnc/default.conf with your config info..

#IPSec gateway my.gateway.com
#IPSec ID someid
#IPSec secret somesecret
#Xauth username myusername
#Xauth password mypassword

IPSec should be supplied by your VPN admin... Xauth is your username and pw (for me it was my active directory credentials).

After that... execute 'vpnc' and you're good to go. You may need to run vpnc as admin/sudo.

Yes, you would be correct Lowell...

According to pacman (yea, I just happen to be running Arch on my host system ;) )...

extra/vpnc 0.5.3.svn550-2
VPN client for cisco3000 VPN Concentrators

Never head of that one but I'm wondering if it's really that specific to Cisco 3000 VPN concentrators.

I use vpnc (using Arch) to connect to my company's Cisco VPN. Not familiar with AnyConnect... I know I am probably I'm making a huge assumption that AnyConnect is a VPN client.

I thought about OpenConnect but I was concerned about compatibility so I figured I suffer Cisco's client first to see if it had gotten any better...

(apparently not)

Openconnect is saying that the server wants me to download "Cisco Secure Desktop"... (and it calls is it a trojan  LOL).  That is disabled by default.  How do I enable that?  I think this was the problem also with the Cisco client.  The downloaded binary doesn't run directly.

Do I need a CSD wrapper?
