It would be nice if the Chromium OS build system was 100% Gentoo based.  Building custom kernels, which I've done forever, has been a real pita and it really shouldn't be.

sorry, should have clarified - i was speaking to android/pixel. i've
actually built chromebook images. i was pretty surprised to see they
were using gentoo under the hood (and that's coming from someone who
used to use gentoo regularly).
