This worked for me for thunderbird-1:60.2.1+build1-0ubuntu0.14.04.2 on 
Mint-17:
* Browse https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/
** https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/60.2.1/linux-x86_64/
* cd /tmp
* wget 
'https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/60.2.1/linux-x86_64/en-US/thunderbird-60.2.1.tar.bz2'
* tar xjf /tmp/thunderbird-60.2.1.tar.bz2

Then:
* TB > Tools > Addons > Gear > Install Addon from File:
** 
/tmp/thunderbird/distribution/extensions/{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}.xpi
* Restart TB
* To re-open the tab: TB > Events and Tasks > Calendar
