True, which is why I wrote of those "crappy shell scripts" (with comments!) to help me out.  :)

The OpenSSL one for this stuff and one for OpenVPN certs saves me time every time I have to do this work.

+1 though I have to admit that while the concepts are clear the 
implementation details always give me a big headache.
