To finally close this out, I *think* it was a lot simpler than I thought 
it would be.  I have some confusion because I did report "problems" to 
SchedulesDirect, which they reported upstream and they do claim were 
"fixed."  However, I'm not 100% sure that wasn't just for the placebo 
effect.

Bottom line, when I *deleted all* channels and re-scanned, it seems like 
it Just Worked.  I did not do that originally because I'm really 
paranoid about channel changes because I was bitten a few times in the 
early days (circa 2008-2012 maybe).  So probably my bad for 
over-thinking and over-complicating...
