I'm trying to learn Java and there are a couple of books in the free section that seem relevant.

This is definitely off topic but if there is anyone fluent in Java that wouldn't mind helping an old embedded C programmer learn some new tricks please contact me off-list.

I've been very, VERY critical of Springer and others over the way
that they handle scientific publication, but this one time: credit
