++ linode -- hometown heroes been using them for years (10 years I think) -- perfect for hosting client sites with backup and disaster recovery -- price is right and very easy to use. I've never had a complaint.

Panix (panix.com) is -- so far -- the best I've found.  Inexpensive,
very high technical clue level, fixes things before I know they're broken,
communicates well, excellent support.  Also they'll support pretty much
any distribution within reason if asked.
