Yep. As a side note this is a paramount concern for things like bitcoin since - even if we consider some earlier implementations buggy - they must continue to work the same way everywhere. It is a harder problem to solve to write code that has to deal with the messiness of the past and still make things work.

Maybe in the future there will be laws written that will sue companies for stealing too much of our attention?
