Big. Big. Big.  It's the American way,
24s are a place to start, bigger is better.
The newer ones have several different inputs, making the monitor its own 
switch.

Take a look first.

Hint: the Big Yellow Store only has a few, in spite of their endless 
catalog. If you want something from the catalog, they'll rush it to you 
in a few weeks. This was my experience.

I'm with you on spending. These are our tools and we have to make sure 
we have good ones.
