Re: [PLUG] Transcoding MTS vids to something else for frame extraction |
Happy to have tried. 'Still surprised on my end... The captures I have are good enough, and not worth more time & effort. > On Mon, Aug 31, 2020 at 19:46 Rich Freeman via plug > <plug@lists.phillylinux.org <mailto:plug@lists.phillylinux.org>> wrote: > So, you're dealing with a couple of things here. > > The only thing you can correct at this point is the processing - > extracting the best still that you can from the data the camera > captured. <snip> Yup. Thanks for the details though, I knew some of that at a high level, but not the correct terms. The camera does have a burst mode (and a sports mode), but getting it pointed and clicked fast enough to catch dolphins breaching was beyond our reflexes, and probably the camera too. Shooting video more-or-less Just Worked. If I'd thought about it, I should have checked to see if the camera had a "raw" mode, which it probably does. That would have been good to shoot this in, assuming the memory card was big enough. I could have off-loaded to a laptop periodically though. Oh well. Maybe next time.
