Hi Eric,

Is that the dmesg output from the box where it "just works" or the box where it "just doesn't work"?

I don't know why it's not working. (When I plugged in my new Logitech webcam a few months ago it just worked.) But if this were me and I were trying to debug it, these would be the first things I'd try:

• Compare dmesg output on both boxes.
  
• Compare which modules are installed on each box.

Any ideas about why this isn't working?

I have yet to reboot so I'll try that next - although if I wanted to reboot every time something changed I'd just run Windows :-D
