Re: [PLUG] Fixing broken link on Ubuntu (Gnome) desktop

I don't know the answer, but maybe logout and log back in to the desktop (no reboot).

Hi all,

I'm running a stock Ubuntu 20.04 with the default desktop. On my desktop is a symlink to a spreadsheet that's on a network share. Work makes us periodically change our passwords, and yesterday was my lucky day.

Now the actual symlink works fine, but on the desktop the icon still has the X and doesn't open the spreadsheet. I don't see any obvious way in the UI to tell it to retry.

I'm sure I could delete it and recreate it and it would be fine. I also feel confident that it will be fixed the next time I reboot. But seems like there must be some way to fix this short of doing that. Is this a bug, or am I missing something obvious?
