Re: [PLUG] Upgrading Kubuntu 18.04 -> 22.04 |
Option #3.
Install Arch once so you never have to upgrade again.-Will C___________________________________________________________________________On Fri, Apr 15, 2022 at 3:35 PM Greg Helledy via plug <plug@lists.phillylinux.org> wrote:___________________________________________________________________________I have a machine with Kubuntu 18.04, which I have been waiting for 22.04 (release next week) to update.
The website says there is no direct upgrade-in-place option 18.04 -> 22.04, only 20.04 -> 22.04.
So it seems I have two choices:
- Install from scratch
- Upgrade 18.04 -> 20.04, then upgrade 20.04 -> 22.04
My instinct tells me 1. might produce a better, more-stable result, but maybe that’s a dated way of looking at things. If you’ve done an 18.04 -> 20.04 upgrade, did it produce a good result and are you planning to upgrade 20.04 -> 22.04? Or would I be better served making the effort to do a fresh install?
