I kind of feel this way.  I don't see the point of rushing to shiny new things for shiny new thing sake.  I might just go to 22.04 LTS and then wait 'til 2030 to think about this again :)

My instinct tells me 1. might produce a better, more-stable result, but maybe that’s a dated way of looking at things.  If you’ve done an 18.04 -> 20.04 upgrade, did it produce a good result and are you planning to upgrade 20.04 -> 22.04?  Or would I be better served making the effort to do a fresh install?
