[PLUG] Patch your Thinkpads |
100 Thinkpad models affected and updated: https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2022/04/bugs-in-100-lenovo-models-fixed-to-prevent-unremovable-infections/ Going through my Thinkpads I see that the P50 has no update, and my 4th gen X1 carbon has a BIOS date from Feb 2022. No indication whether that includes this round of fixes :-/ The older ones I didn't try yet. No release notes anywhere. On the bright side, they provide a BIOS update utility for Linux. Whether that is safe to run is a different matter. They also have bootable CDs, might be a better option.
