[PLUG] [plug-announce] Tue Jul 12 - PLUG North - "Evolve Maestro III E-Book" by Jonathan Simpson (7pm ET online)

PLUG North will be meeting on Tuesday, July 12, beginning at 7pm EDT
(2300 UTC). The meeting will be online. Details are at the bottom of
the email.

This month, PLUG welcomes back Jonathan Simpson. Jonathan will be
giving a talk about the Evolve Maestro III E-Book. The Evolve is a
netbook he picked up for $80 at Micro Center. Here's a teaser from his blog:

    Recently I learned of what seemed like a great deal… a laptop
    running windows for just $80. Now, I’m an avid Linux user and tend
    to go back to windows only when necessary, but I figured if it can run
    Windows, it can likely run Linux. Also, it doesn’t hurt to have a
    portable windows install for Ham radio.

Was he able to get Linux running on it? Tune in Tuesday night and find out!

We'll be using Jitsi Meet, a free and open source videoconferencing
platform, for the meeting. The meeting will start at 7 PM. The talk will
start around 7:15, or whenever we're all set and have all the screen
sharing issues worked out. Q&A and general chat will follow the talk.
