That's the good news. The other info is how this is accomplished: DDG sets itself up as a VPN. This means you can't use the VPN for anything else.

If this were a desktop, you'd just update your HOSTS file with any of the files available, free and commercial. Unless you have root, you probably can't update your android HOSTS file. Then you need to look into a firewall or a different program in the VPN which does this job.

If you are not a Strange Firewall Person and don't use the VPN slot, it might be a good thing. I'd still recommend a firewall or something like ad-aware, both of which set themselves up as VPNs. This is because you can knock out many many things besides trackers. FB has its own section, with lots of IPs to block.
