Re: [PLUG] [plug-announce] Tue Jun 11 - PLUG North - Walt Mankowski on?"Perl?One-Liners" (7 PM EDT)

Sorry, I have a template (actually an Emacs elisp function) that
generates the announcement each month with the associated dates and
Jitsi links and suchlike. That, unfortunately, is on my Ubuntu box
that died a few weeks ago. So I had to do this announcement the
old-fashioned way, but modifying an old announcement.

Now you see why I wrote the code to automate it!

The meeting will indeed be TOMORROW, June 11. My apologies for any
confusion this may have caused.

I'll be giving this talk at the annual Perl and Raku conference <https://tprc.us/tprc-2024-las/> later this month and want to practice it. Here's my abstract <https://tprc2024.sched.com/event/1dGse/perl-one-liners>:

Perl's got a reputation for producing unreadable, unmaintainable code. In some cases that's probably well-deserved, and TPC is filled with talks on modules and techniques that try to rein in some of that complexity. That's great, but sometimes people can forget that Perl's still a great language for throwing together quick and dirty little programs. And nothing is quicker or dirtier than the one-liner.
