Re: [PLUG] Reputable sources for reconditioned / refurbished laptops

On 2024-09-14 21:08:43, "K.S. Bhaskar via plug" <plug@lists.phillylinux.org> spake thus:
I have in the past bought reconditioned / refurbished laptops from
MicroCenter, generally with good results. Are there other reputable sources
that anyone can recommend (especially if MicroCenter doesn't have what I'm
looking for)? Thanks.

I had a good experience earlier this year purchasing (on an emergency basis) a replacement for a higher-end laptop from EPC, Inc. (Bethlehem, PA location on ebay is called 'EPC-Pennsylvania'):

    https://www.ebay.com/str/epcpennsylvania?_tab=about
    https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_ssn=epc-pa
    https://epcusa.com/locations/

    EPC, Inc.
    2980 Avenue B.
    Bethlehem, PA 18017
    610.295.0073

    Certifications
        e-Stewards Certified
        Blancco Authorized Partner
        Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher
        NAID
        ISO 14001-2015
        PCI DSS

They do not have a showroom at the Bethlehem location, but if you see items they have listed on their eBay store you can call them to discuss, and can inspect them physically if you are willing to drive to their warehouse to pick it up.

In my case, they were one of the few vendors that had several available configurations for the specific model for which I was searching, and their close-enough location in Bethlehem allowed me to pick up the device on the same day. The person I spoke to a few times on the phone that day was extremely helpful.

Best regards,
-Al
