THIS !!! Let's also not forget that most people have cases and wireless charging in a case is not only less efficiently but your phone also heats up more as a result- this is an issue that only gets worse over the life of your device. I've had my phone shut down in the summer because it got to hot. Considering that USB-C in most vehicles isn't even doing the 45W spec (which is the minimum I would want to "keep up"), wireless charging is particularly terrible. You're pretty much heating up your device more than via the USB-C port. TIP... many vehicles have a 110v outlet. Get a 65W or 100W charger and use that. On long trips, I'll do that to avoid the wireless charging issue all together. To modify my previous response a bit, wireless AA when you are USB-C charging from at least a 65W source is pretty nice. Just know how to reconnect it if/when you get disconnected. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Keith C. Perry, MS E.E. I feel like everybody is going wireless, but every phone I've ever had uses a TON of power when running GPS/display/etc. Even a non-PD charging cable struggles to charge the phone, and I can't imagine wireless charging would keep up. I would really appreciate it if the car manufacturers just put in USB-C with PD support. Wireless is nice and all that, but it isn't really ideal when you're going to be in the car for an hour and the phone is going to drain its battery the whole time. It is mostly just physics unless you have a phone with a battery the size of a brick. -- Rich ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
