[PLUG] Surprise: A Small Change Leads to Big Results for Computer Security

Here's some good security news for a change. Researchers at UCSD and
Purdue have completely reverse-engineered the conditional branch
predictor for all of Intel’s flagship processors, going back more than
a decade. It can potentially shut down an entire class of Spectre
attacks.
