[PLUG] [plug-announce] Tue Mar 12 - PLUG North - "FreeBSD - resources and constraints" by Martin Cracauer (7pm at CoreDial)


PLUG North will be meeting on Tuesday, March 12 at CoreDial's offices in Blue Bell. The meeting officially begins at 7 PM EDT, but doors will open at 6:45. Directions to the meeting location can be found at the end of this email.

This month, PLUG welcomes Martin Cracauer, who will be giving a talk entitled "FreeBSD - resources and constraints".

A talk about how FreeBSD manages its resources, which target audience it serves, sources of its software. How the ports system aligns with various package policy systems on Linux distributions. Native ZFS and dtrace. Tricks and hacks to keep up with consumer hardware and commonality with the Linux kernel.

The meeting will take place from 6:45-9pm at CoreDial's office space in Blue Bell, PA. Please note that the meeting will be in-person ONLY, so there will NOT been a Jitsi channel for the talk.
