Not to get picky but +++ surrounded by guard time is the string
to put a modem into command mode from online mode. To get to
hangup from online you need a 3 sec window with no transmissions
followed by +++ followed by another 3 sec window with no transmission
followed by ATH (modem hangup) signal.
