Even though the YAPC schedule hasn't been officially announced yet, I
think we should go ahead and plan on that for next week's topic. The
tentative list of talks will be:

Me: How to submit a Perl documentation patch
Geoff: Making a Module: And All the Crap That CPAN Wants Too
Mark: Topic of his choice

If anyone else would like to practice a YAPC or TPC talk, let us know
and we'll add you to the schedule.

Thu, May 31 Deadline to submit a YAPC Lightning Talk proposal

This will be another tech talk. Kirrily "Skud" Robert of e-smith will
be visiting us from Ottawa to talk about e-smith, Reefknot, Perl 6, and
whatever else suits her fancy. Here's some more information about who
she is:

: From: Kirrily Skud Robert <skud@infotrope.net>
: To: dha@panix.com
: Subject: blurb
: Date: Tue, 6 Mar 2001 16:43:02 -0500
:
: OK, here's a bit of info that you might want to throw at your group:
:
: Kirrily "Skud" Robert will be presenting the e-smith server and gateway,
: a specialised Linux distribution built on Perl and the subject of a
: recent feature article on http://www.perl.com/. But wait, there's more!
: She'll also come prepared to talk about any of the following that take
: your fancy: CGI::FormMagick (a web applications building tool), Reefknot
: (RFC-compliant calendaring/scheduling in Perl, including Net::ICal),
: Perl 6, and whatever else happens to pop up.
:
: Skud is currently employed by e-smith, inc in Ottawa, Canada, but was
: previously located in Melbourne, Australia, where she ran the local Perl
: Mongers group and headed up a small but notorious Perl consulting and
: training shop. Her writing on the subject of Perl and other open source
: software can be frequently seen on various news sites. She is also the
: language design working group chair for Perl 6.

Skud will also be speaking on Wednesday, June 6 at the Philadelphia
Linux Users Group (PLUG) meeting.

I think this should probably be the June dinner, which works out well
since it sounds like a lot of us will be driving back from Montreal
the day before.

Can someone at ISI confirm the availability of the conference room for
May 21 and June 4?

Thanks.

Walt
