Discussion continues for the topic of the second talk, although Quantum::Superpositions seems to be winning so far.[1] See http://dc.pm.org/ for more information. Walt ----- Forwarded message from Adam Turoff <ziggy@panix.com> ----- Date: Wed, 8 May 2002 01:44:14 -0400 From: Adam Turoff <ziggy@panix.com> To: dc@lists.pm.org Subject: [dcpm] Damian Conway in DC As part of his world tour, Damian Conway will be visiting the DC area next month. Nat has graciously requested space at the AGU for an additional meeting on Thursday, June 13th for Damian to present his Perl6 Update (http://yetanother.org/damian/events/Perl6.html). We've also arranged some space for Saturday Morning, June 15th at GWU. Yes, you read that correctly: *two* presentations by Damian Conway in DC in the same week. The Thursday meeting will be at the usual time and place. The Saturday meeting will be from 10:30am to 1pm. The topic for the Saturday presentation is still undecided. Damian recommends two of his more popular talks: Quantum::Superpositions SelfGOL (http://yetanother.org/damian/events/Extreme.html) Both of these run to about 2 hours, leaving time for questions, autographs, etc. I've also asked Damian if he'd be interested in presenting some of his papers from last year's Perl conference, particularly the one on Object Oriented Perl and Delegation; he's happy to do it, but the talks listed above tend to be a lot more fun, especially on a Saturday morning. :-) Please cast your votes to the list, and I'll forward the result to Damian. Z. ----- End forwarded message ----- 1. Z -- I don't know if I get a vote, but if I do I'd vote for SelfGOL. I've already seen the Q::S talk twice, and while it's excellent I doubt I'd schlep all the way down to DC to hear it a third time. Attachment:
