    It'll be very slow.  Windows networking on 386's is an exercise in
futility.

    Why not run Linux on them all?  Since you haven't mentioned specific
applications, I'm guessing that you aren't tied down to any particular
Windows-based apps.  There are plenty of edutainment programs available
for Linux that would be suitable for a day care environment.
