I found a way to use cdda2wav that works for me: "nice -5 cdda2wav -t 1 -I generic_scsi -D 0,3,0 control.wav" The nice setting is because I have a very old machine and I wanted to answer email. "-t 1" is first track only. "-I generic_scsi" is to backup and use the old way of talking to the drive. "-D 0,3,0" is the new way of specifing the device. "control.wav" is the output file name. I had three main problems: 1. A very old drive, and a slow machine. 2. My primary CDROM is atapi and was not usable by cdda2wav, due I think to the speed of the machine. 3. My scanner kept getting identified as a CDROM. So everything works now, I'm now trying the Blade package to convert the .wav to a .mp3. It seems to be working. David L.
