Good news/Bad news... Good news... Setserial has an option for XonXoff Bad news... at least one HowTo page says XonXoff isn't supported. (Go figure.) Does anyone have actual experience in these matters that can clarify? ggallen@slackinc.com on 06/02/99 05:39:02 PM To: linux-admin@vger.rutgers.edu cc: (bcc: Thomas A Burba/USVISION) Subject: XON/XOFF with printers I need to hook up a serial printer to a linux 2.0.35 (Slackware) system to either the com1 or com2. The printer will require xon/xoff to work. If I setup my printcap for /dev/ttyS0 or /dev/ttyS1, will the lpr handle the xon/xoff? I'm used to hooking up serial printers via a terminal server which does all the xon/xoff protocol work. I did a man on printcap and didn't see anything for coding my entry as needing xon/xoff, is there a code for it? or do I need a output filter to handle the handshaking?
