Microsoft DHCP servers allow you to hand out a whole boatload of information besides just an IP address. One of these is the array of DNS addresses. This allows you to centrally manage your various service parameters from the centralized DHCP service. In general, on MS platforms, if the DHCP service supplies a parameter that is explicitely defined by the client, the local setting will override the setting supplied by the DHCP service. You might want to try removing any DNS settings from your system, with your PPP connection down, and acquire a PPP connection and see if you get a DNS address. The important point is to make sure that you're not already defining a DNS address. Michael W.
