I have a DELL Latitude XPi CD. It uses an ESS 1887 audio controller, which as I said, took a little trial and error to figure out which settings worked. Email me off-list if you want my audio setup. The real trick on this machine (and lots of other laptops) was getting a driver for the NeoMagic 2093 (also called the 128V) video controller, which required the XFCom X Server from Precision Insight / Red Hat, that was not released until November of '98. See http://www.mnsinc.com/js/Neomagic.html for info on Neomagic MagicGraph 128 family chipsets and laptops. jas3 ----- Original Message ----- From: Kyle Burton <mortis@voicenet.com> To: <plug@lists.nothinbut.net> Sent: Tuesday, July 06, 1999 1:51 PM Subject: Re: [Plug] Getting Sound What dell laptop do you have?
