RE: [Plug] Which modem to buy for Linux

I swear by USR personally. I know there are some equivalents for less but
USR is easy to come by and worth the bucks.

Definitly stay away from WinModems even if you're running sindows.

I have no experience with the PCI modems but I won't try them because there
can't be any real benefit to putting a device that communicates no higher
than 115,000Kbps (DTE) speed to a High Speed Bus.

Hmmmm... I've got a Dell OEM USR internal 56k with the V90 upgrades pulled
from the
Dell, installed in an old P166 Gateway. Works just fine in Linux, SCO
opensever and
sindows.
