Hi Benjamin... I am using RedHat 6.0 and Bellatlantic also. You must enable PAP. It's very easy if you use LinuxConfig. If you accepted the defaults and installed GNOME as your GUI you will have a nice, user friendly, interface to Linux Config in the setup sub-menu, but you must logon root to make the changes.
