Welll.... 1) Remove TV card, and put nic card in it's place. 2) Compiled in support for the nic card into the kernel, removed tv card support (or just insmod a module instead of having to reboot) 3) Ran netconf, filled in all the values for everything I had on a piece of paper from suburban (host name, host+domain, ip, netmask, network device (eth0), domain, dns entries, search domain, and default gateway) 4) Let linuxconf do its thing to activate the changes, and boom. That's pretty much it, I will attempt later to get the nic card and the tv card to play nicely together. Although I could always go with an ISA nic card... how much of a performance difference is that? -- Michelle Weber umweber@mcs.drexel.edu On Mon, 19 Jul 1999 tburba@GLCORPIS01.usvision.com wrote: > > > > > What were the steps? > > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > Please respond to plug@lists.nothinbut.net > To: plug@lists.nothinbut.net > cc: (bcc: Thomas A Burba/USVISION) > Subject: Re: Re: [Plug] redhat, linksys, and suburban@home :-( > > > > Basically, I set it up the way I originally had it, with a static ip, and > not having my nic card conflict with any other hard ware kinda did the > trick :) > > -- > Michelle Weber > umweber@mcs.drexel.edu > > On Mon, 19 Jul 1999 tburba@GLCORPIS01.usvision.com wrote: > > > > > > > > > > > Please give us a recap of how to set it up, now that you've got the bugs > > out. `: - ) > > > > > > > > > > umweber@mcs.drexel.edu on 07/19/99 02:29:45 AM > > > > Please respond to plug@lists.nothinbut.net > > > > To: plug@lists.nothinbut.net > > cc: (bcc: Thomas A Burba/USVISION) > > Subject: Re: [Plug] redhat, linksys, and suburban@home :-( > > > > > > > > > > Ok, it works in linux, set up statically, and without this extra card. > > I just had to get out of windows after the 4th time it crashed in the > same > > hour. > > Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions. > > > > -- > >>cut<< > > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Plug maillist - Plug@lists.nothinbut.net > http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug > _______________________________________________ Plug maillist - Plug@lists.nothinbut.net http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug
