Depending on what you want the domain for, you might be interested in the service offered by http://www.dhis.org/ There you can become (something).dhis.org. A daemon on your own box connects with dhis.org when you are on-line, giving your ip address to their DNS. So my box at home dials up periodically and i don't need to know its IP to log on to it. dhis.org isn't as stable as i'd like, so i also use the similar service through justlinux.com. dhis does mail caching for you, which is very nice, dhis is shorter than penginpowered, and the dhis daemon is easier to set up. (Neither is difficult by any stretch of the imagination.) justlinux.com is more stable, but it doesn't automatically figure out that your machine has gone off line. Cheers, judith -- Judith E.
