According to the "Linux/Modem Compatibility Knowledge Base" at http://www.o2.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html, you have a winmodem. Nothin' we can do for ya.. > Smart One 56K internal windows modem, ISA version -- Model #56FW ------------- > > Well when I use minicom to try to dial the new 56k > modem...the minicom software > appears to dial out..but I never get a connection.. I don't > even hear the modem > dial out..eventaully..I time out minicom probably sends the ATDT & phone number to the serial port...the modem does nothing with it because its a winmodem. > There wasn't > any useful messages in /var/log/messages that would help begin.. Those would likely be send by pppd, not minicom Again, sorry _______________________________________________ Plug maillist - Plug@lists.nothinbut.net http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug
