According to the "Linux/Modem Compatibility Knowledge Base" at
http://www.o2.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html, you have a winmodem.  Nothin' we
can do for ya..

minicom probably sends the ATDT & phone number to the serial port...the
modem does nothing with it because its a winmodem.

Those would likely be send by pppd, not minicom
