Nick: I have a sort-of expensive cable tester (about $700) that does a couple of dozen tests on a cable from end to end. If any of the tested parameters are out of range, the cable won't work -- especially at 100mbps. Things like bend radius, amount of wire untwisted at the connecter, etc., can render a cable useless. It would be nice if this were just a doorbell circuit, but it's a very sophisticated transmission channel for high freq signals. Link lights mean very littlle. Tom Nick R wrote: > None taken.
