-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- I've had no problems getting Slackware to install on a 486 with 8M ram, according to Installation-HOWTO "Technically, Linux will run with only 2 meg, but most installations and software require 4. The more memory you have, the happier you'll be. I suggest 8 or 16 megabytes if you're planning to use X-Windows." The howto is kinda old tho (Nov. 1998), so maybe Debian 2.0's installation requires more.. --Barry - -- "...Deep Hack Mode--that mysterious and frightening state of consciousness where Mortal Users fear to tread."
