You misunderstand the agreement: 4.2 Software: You may install and use or de-install properly licensed and compatible software programs within that portion of the hard drive not taken up by the Free-PC System. 4.3 Hardware: You may install and use or de-install compatible hardware components or peripherals (such as additional hard drives, a larger monitor, a joystick, a printer, more memory, etc.) provided that the Free-PC Software at all times starts/boots from the hard drive installed on the Free-PC System as configured by us. So basically, as long as I have a system running that HD I stay w/in their regulations. The monitor's bigger than mine, the CPU's faster, the CD-ROM's gotta be better, the mouse is probably better, the speakers may or may not be better, the modem will be the same or worse, no idea about the video card, the sound card will probably be about the same, and the case will probably be nicer. So I gain. I'll just swap some parts and make a kickass PC & a crappy one that I use for surfing. Even installing Netscape falls w/in their policy. Their ads don't depend on IE. Outlook I can get rid of too. So it still sounds like a pretty good deal. I just need some way to assure my parents that it's ok to give their credit card info and that this is a legitimate business.
