I have been told that this is a Netscape/Motif bug.
The way around it is just to switch focus, even from one netscape
window to another. The failsafe way for me (using WindowMaker and
Blackbox) is to switch desktops.
I now usually leave the pull down menus for last when filling out
online forms :)
