Hmmmm, the popserver disconnected me within 3 seconds, but the SMTP server let me telnet into it and it didnt seem to mind. What email program are you using? Are you trying to use netscape's email? If you are check the mail server addresses again, and make sure there is no spaces before or after the address. If it still doesnt work, try opening a terminal window and typethe following: ping mail.enter.net and then: ping smtp.enter.net You should get something like this: bahamut 403 Wed 12 7:57AM linux % ping mail.enter.net ~ PING mail.enter.net (63.65.0.6): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 63.65.0.6: icmp_seq=0 ttl=244 time=130.174 ms 64 bytes from 63.65.0.6: icmp_seq=1 ttl=244 time=108.006 ms 64 bytes from 63.65.0.6: icmp_seq=2 ttl=244 time=111.822 ms 64 bytes from 63.65.0.6: icmp_seq=3 ttl=244 time=108.168 ms ^C --- mail.enter.net ping statistics --- 4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 108.006/114.543/130.174/9.153 ms Tell us what you find out. -- -Rune Time is Irrelevant to the worlds beyond this godforsaken place unto which it destroys all. -Aarune J.
