If it's installed, it's just not in the PATH (maybe /usr/ucb/cc ?) but you can simply download GCC from metalab.unc.edu/pub/solaris/sparc. Grab both GNUgcc(pick your binary) and GNUgdb(*) and you should be fine. andrew.
