I like HackerWhacker more than ShieldsUp. You have to pay for HW but it
provides a deeper scan than ShieldsUp (ShieldsUp only scans 20-30 ports
versus HW's 130,000+ scan) and does some common tests on various daemons
to see if they are actually working the way you think they should. HW
will give you one scan for free of about 2,000 ports after that they
want you to sign up.
