RE: [PLUG] Potential LINUX convert SEEKING NOTEBOOK

Alas, some people take longer to see the light...so the term "convert" is
almost appropriate.

Myself, I was a Windows-only kind a guy. I program in C++ and Delphi. It
took the efforts of Kyle Burton to show Linux for what it is and to make me
a believer in Linux and the Open Source movement. I am conservative by
nature. Making the jump to Linux required proof that it was reliable and
secure. Now, I'm an advocate for Linux or Windows whenever it's the most
appropriate choice. That was a big jump for me. <g>

BTW, I am waiting anxiously for Kylix.

On a philosophical note, I don't really appreciate using an expression
like the "Linux convert". I think Linux is meant to be just another
choice. If you like it, you use it. The open source/Linux philosophy does
not advocate people to dump other alternatives and force them to use Linux
- rather it encourages freedom of choice. At least I see it that way and
I'm sure many others in the list also do. (See my .sig :)

Life's about freedom - so is Linux.
