Good logic. Important part is to vote your conscience. Hell, if you don't care enough to vote and express your opinion, then don't whine when the gov't doesn't do what you'd like it to. One thing I found peculiar. The other night (around 2:30 am), msn.com was conducting a poll of their own. With over 80K repsondents, they showed 57% to 32% in favor of Bush (the rest were 3rd party). 80K of respondents...yet this poll vanished by 6am and not to be seen again. Guess they didn't like what they were seeing, eh? What do people on this list feel about the recent "revelation" regarding Bush? Does anybody really care? I know I don't. It happened 24 years ago. And, the man hasn't had a drink in 14 years. So, if he had a problem, he admitted it and beat it. But, I think it was a cheap shot by the opposition to reveal this information with five days left in the election. Remember Gore said that he wouldn't run that type of campagne, yet the democratic party has been pulling all sorts of bad juju in Michigan (in particular) as well as elsewhere. You can't tell me HE didn't know about Bush's record. It's sorta like Larry Flint coming out and claiming, on CNN, that he has evidence of Bush paying for some woman's abortion or Jesse Jackson saying that Collin Powell wouldn't have made the rank of general if Bush had anything to say about it. Yet, he (Flint) has yet to produce this "evidence". What irritated me is that the correspondent didn't challenge Flint and he got away with a cheap shot on national TV. Same sorta crap. Yes. I am voting for Bush (and proud to admit it). Gore scares the hell outta me with his record regarding personal privacy and encryption policy. But, that's a story for another time. But, on a more tangible level, Doylestown Hospital apparently did a study comparing Gore's plan to Bush's plan. Gore's plan is going to cost a boat load of money and show little benefit to hospitals as well as patients. That's why DH has sided with Bush on this one since it costs less and actually provides better benefits. Of course, we all know how important health care is the democrats....just look at the debacle Hillary and the crew created in 1992. And, they still have nothing to show after eight years. It's time for a change. Whether you side with the Republicans or 3rd party, just vote. It will make a difference. cjs -----Original Message----- From: plug-admin@lists.phillylinux.org [mailto:plug-admin@lists.phillylinux.org]On Behalf Of Darxus@ChaosReigns.com Sent: Saturday, November 04, 2000 10:03 PM To: plug@lists.phillylinux.org Subject: [PLUG] please vote That's pretty much it. I think a lot of us have a lot in common. I think, in the long run, we'll all be better off if all of us vote. (717) 787-5280 - pennsylvania voter registration info. They can tell you where to vote, and whatever you may need to know about registration. If you're not currently registered, it's too late for this election. There are a couple things mostly involving drivers licenses that can cause you to be registered -- I wasn't sure if I still was. I called and found out I am. I do have a specific candidate I'd prefer you to vote for, but it's much more important to me that you vote for who you feel is best. I'll be voting for a third party candidate. Some people think this is a waste of my vote. I believe the opposite. I believe that a vote for a republican or a democrat is a waste of a vote. They will only continue to make the government worse. The more people who vote for third parties this year, the more people will take them seriously and vote for them next time. Maybe as a result of my vote for a third party, a president I will despise will be elected. The government will get worse. So be it. Perhaps more people will wake up. Maybe next time they'll vote. Maybe next time will be too late, and more drastic action will be required. Like many problems, I believe that on a large enough scale, this one is self correcting. Your decesion only affects how long and unpleasant the correction process will be. -- http://www.ChaosReigns.com ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
