Anyone seen a client bandwidth tester like this http://www.info-techs.com/speedtest.html done under open source? I could reproduce their ASP methods with PHP, but the content is copyright MSN. That's the content, not the idea. If the general feeling is that it would be all right to redevelop this with PHP, then I would just do that. This would be a testing tool for clients who have nothing more than a browser -- okay, a computer, too -- to see how much internal bandwidth they have available within our site. Ideally, we'd then share this with a couple of our peer schools and allow users at any site to do a point-to-point bandwidth test. Any solutions that are platform specific or require specific client software wouldn't work for us. I wonder if any of you folks who work for ISPs might now already have a similar tool. -- Adam Preset <preset@swarthmore.edu> Swarthmore College ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
