I found that Storm uses both a graphical boot and also gives you a choice for a text screen boot. This is a great advantage if your graphics card is not supported by the auto X configuration scripts. Storm is basically Debian with nicer packaging which is a good thing. Very easy to install but still gives you dpkg dselect and the other Debian tools that I prefer to use.
