A little bit more - you get better airflow design. And heat is a BIG
problem, especially with the new Athalon CPUs, and if you have multiple
hard drives.

I have a friend who has a server with this config, who'd had stability
problems due to excessive heat. Even with multiple case fans, and fans
on the drives.

Also, you get a case designed for easier access, which is important if
you like to do a lot of tinkering. Such as drives on removable rails,
etc.

But you're right - unless you need a large tower design, it shouldn't
run you more than $100.
