[PLUG] Zip Drive

I mount my Zip drive with

     insmod parport
     insmod ppa
     mount -t vfat sda4 /mnt/zip

while logged in as superuser.

ownership of /mnt/zip is with my regular user id, and permissions for the directory are set to rwxrwxr_x

but it still will not allow my regular user to write to the zip drive. I have tried adding

     chmod -R 777 /mnt/zip

to my mounting commands, but still will not let me write to the zip.

Any ideas?
