Since moving to XFree86 4.x (debian woody), I haven't had a totally correct meta key. - If I am at console talking to an xterm, gnome-term, etc., meta- stuff inserts special symbols, not acting like escape stuff. Despite having the following line in my .Xdefaults, which fixed the problem under XFree86 3.x: *eightBitInput: false - If in that same xterm I type "emacs -nw", emacs gets it right. - When logged in via ssh from work, bash gets it right. So I'm guessing it's an X config thing, but I can't explain how emacs gets it right in an xterm. Any suggestions? -- Jeff Jeff Abrahamson <http://www.purple.com/jeff/> ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
